New Capitol Street Nightclub opens Friday

I hope Impulse does well, but a ten dollar cover charge is a little much.
Not even Thanksgiving will be a day off for the crew, who will eat
dinner and then head back to Capitol Street to place the finishing
touches on the building. Amores, the ex-wife of former House Judiciary Chairman Jon Amores, said she plans to open the bar in phases.

But she wanted to get the doors open in time for the holidays, she said. On
tap for Friday's opening is Supa Skip, a deejay from North Carolina who
has appeared on MTV, and Joey Stepp, who was rated the number-two
bartender during Quest 2007, a training and competition program for
"flair" bartenders, who can do tricks when they serve drinks

It has been reported that the club will also be smoke free, which is a good change for downtown Charleston night spots.
