What's the future of Slack Plaza?

Nanya Friend, editor and publisher of the Charleston Daily Mail asks, Well, where should Slack Plaza go?

Workers, shoppers and others are using the plaza for what it was originally intended, to walk from the older area of downtown to the mall.

Bus riders, too, are doing what they are supposed to do.

But whoever planned the space obviously wanted it to be more than that.

If it isn’t working out — and it’s had a long trial — perhaps the plaza should simply be reduced in size and the space put to some other use.
